Enrollment is still open for the Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center’s Surgical Technologist program, which begins in October. This is an accredited, full-time program that will fulfill required classroom and clinical hours, and prepare students to sit for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification exams.
Clinical instruction is offered through several local health networks. Students will learn from an experienced faculty and progress through several levels of study. Financial assistance is available.
The nine-month, 970-hour program will prepare students to work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel, delivering patient care during all aspects of a surgical procedure. According to the popular job site ZipRecruiter.com, the national median annual salary for surgical technologists is currently $54,458, and New York ranks number 1 for surgical technologist salaries.
Seating is limited so don’t delay! To begin the enrollment process for the Surgical Technologist program, visit www.ulsterboces.org or call (845) 331-5050.
