What’s going on in Lloyd?

Posted

I have been a Lloyd resident since my birth in 1956.

I or my family have subscribed to local newspapers in all 64 of those years.
I do not have ANYTHING to do with Facebook or Twitter, or any of the other unsubstantiated online rumor mills. Maybe I should. Never have I been so in the dark as to what is going on in my hometown.

In January your newspaper reported that the Town Board had shut down development with a moratorium.

In February your newspaper reported that eight businesses had applied to the Town Board for exemptions from the moratorium, and they would be subject to hearings and votes in February.

In March, while you did report that one of the applicants has modified their application, you have never reported the outcome of the February hearing and decisions rendered on the eight applicants. Three weekly issues into March and you have left us in the dark.

The official posted minutes on the Town of Lloyd web site lags by a couple of months. Your newspaper should not. But, it’s probably better late than never. I am waiting.
