Women’s Philanthropy celebrated by Jewish Federation

Women from across Orange County gathered at the Shelter House Café in Newburgh for an afternoon of High Tea and a live performance by a trio from the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra. The afternoon was a celebration of Women’s Philanthropy.

Since its founding, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County has encouraged the unique efforts of women in philanthropy and charitable giving with its Women’s Philanthropy Campaign. Women who participate in this campaign pledge their own charitable giving, lifting up the voices of women and working to empower women to become leaders, decision-makers, and change-makers.

Raena Korenman of Newburgh shared with the group why the efforts of Women’s Philanthropy are so vital. “Women are making a bigger difference than ever before. Through fundraising, volunteer work, and advocacy, we are using our collective strength to address the issues we hold close to our hearts. By taking action in our own names, we build a legacy of tzedakah (righteousness) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). We set a shining example for others to follow, now and for future generations. Your gift is your voice.”
