The Lloyd American Legion Post 193 in Highland presented a plaque to honor Bud Walker and his team for their continuous support and participation in the Highland Memorial Day Parade. For more than 20 years, Bud has entered his collection of WW II vehicles, including a jeep, a Dodge and GMC troop carrier, an armored half trac and an M4 Sherman tank. The equipment is a perennial hit of the parade.

Legion Post Commander Terry Elia presented a plaque of appreciation to Bud and his team, thanking them for their continuous participation and support of the Legion’s programs. Elia also thanked the equipment drivers and operators who donated their time to prepare and drive the vehicles at the parade; Larry Napier, Tony Palazzo, Dan Powers, and David Rosenkranse.

Bud said he was honored to be recognized by the Legion and even though he did not serve in the military, many of his family members did. and bringing his equipment to the parade was an expression of his appreciation to all the men and women who have served our country. The Legion believes that Memorial Day is very important and we should never forget those who gave their lives in previous and present conflicts.

A celebratory dinner followed.
