The Plattekill Historical Preservation Society welcomes speaker Amy Walker on Saturday March 16th at 1 p.m. at the PHPS headquarters, 127 Church St., Plattekill.

Walker, a contributor to research at the Hudson Valley Research Laboratory (HVRL Inc) will speak on controlling the invasive Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs, who have damaged local crops and harasses residents in their homes.

HVRL has worked towards reducing population of the stink bug by targeting the egg clusters they produce.

Giving a brief history of early farming in the Hudson Valley, Walker will direct her talk to both home owners and farmers about steps being taken to control this invasive species.

Join us and discover the injuries they cause to vegetable and tree fruit crops, besides the annoyance of their home invasions – and how to reduce, and eventually eliminate, stink bugs!

Free admission, plenty of free parking and light refreshments will be served.

Remember the date – Saturday, March 16th at 1 PM at 127 Church Street in Plattekill (right off of Route 32 – watch for the signs)!
