On September 10, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p.m., State Police Montgomery responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 84 in the town of Montgomery. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2008 Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling in the passing lane behind a tractor trailer and another uninvolved vehicle.

The pick-up truck entered the right lane and passed the tractor trailer and the other vehicle. The operator of the pick-up truck attempted to return to the passing lane when he struck a tractor trailer in the right lane and lost control. The pick-up truck rolled over several times traveling approximately 150 yards and ejecting the operator. The operator of the pick-up truck, later identified as Thomas E. Hallahan, age 32 of Newburgh was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation. State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the State Police at Montgomery at 845-457-1388.
