Frog and Salamander Search at Minnewaska

Posted

Come join other learning-from-home families at Minnewaska to learn about the amazing amphibians that live here. Children will play a frog life cycle tag game, make their own frog mask, learn about amphibian habitats, and visit vernal pools to look for frogs, salamanders and insects. This program is recommended for children between the ages of seven to twelve years old, accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Well-behaved younger siblings are always welcome. This program is dependent on the proper weather conditions and may need to be rescheduled if snow persists. Due to COVID protocols, the total number of participants for this program is limited to nine individuals. All participants must wear face coverings or keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of their immediate household. This program will meet at the Peter’s Kill Park Office. Pre-registration is required by calling Minnewaska at 845-255-0752.
