Frog and Salamander Search for Families at Minnewaska

Posted

Join Laura Conner, Environmental Educator and Vanessa Pagano, Student Conservation Association/AmeriCorps Environmental Educator on a short, family- friendly hike to look for salamanders, frogs, and their eggs at vernal pools. Children will play a frog life-cycle tag game, make their own frog mask, and learn about amphibian habitats. This program is recommended for children between the ages of seven to twelve years old, accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Well-behaved younger siblings are always welcome. This program is dependent on the proper weather conditions and may need to be rescheduled if snow persists. Due to COVID protocols, the total number of participants for this program is limited to nine individuals. All participants must wear face coverings or keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of their immediate household. This program will meet at the Peter’s Kill Climbing Area. Pre-registration is required by calling Minnewaska at 845-255-0752.
