Library offers advisory service
The Gardiner Library is now offering “BookMatch”, a personalized reader’s advisory service. Fill out a quick survey on the library website and our librarians will send you a personalized list of book recommendations based on your responses. The list will include links to the library catalog for easy access to place holds on items directly.
For further information visit gardinerlibrary.org or the library’s Facebook page.

Gardiner Library presents Story Walk

The Gardiner Library is now showing Moonlight: The Halloween Cat by Cynthia Rylant as its October StoryWalk® display. Read the story while you walk up to the library! For the entire month families can enjoy this fun, interactive story along the sidewalk of the library’s driveway.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

The Pen Pal initiative
The Gardiner Library is now offering three ways to connect with friends, family and the community through a Pen Pal Initiative program. There’s never been a better time to put pen to paper and reach out to someone to say, “I’m thinking about you.” Keep in touch.
The program offers three options including “Dear Librarian” where children can include a drawing to post on the Gardiner Library Art Wall. “Senior Connect” provides the opportunity to write to a senior living in our community at Woodland Pond. And the “Flat Stanley Pen Pal Club” allows for participates to “travel” around the world or just around town. Register for a Flat Stanley kit to decorate and send him to family and friends close to home or far away. Kits include activities and booklists. Those participating in any of these pen pal programs will be eligible to receive monthly cardmaking kits. Email Nicole at nlane@rcls.org to participate.
