Hazel F. Terwilliger of Wallkill, owner of Buckboard Antiques in Wallkill, passed away on Thursday April 1, 2021 in Newburgh.  She was 84. 

The daughter of the late William Barbieri and Hazel Barbieri-Pavlik, she was born October 24, 1936 in Newburgh.

She was a member of Wallkill Reformed Church, a longtime Girl Scout leader and consultant, and Cub Scout leader.

She was the widow of Neil A. Terwilliger and predeceased by her infant son, Neil Alan and her brother, Michael.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Smith, her husband, Shawn and their daughters Rachel and Virginia, and her son, Neil Terwilliger all of Wallkill, his daughter Natalie and her mother Karen, brothers Lawrence, Vincent, and his wife, Roberta Barbieri, many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Sapphire Nursing Home in Newburgh and the staff at St.Lukes for helping our Mom through difficult times.

“Honey”, as she was known to many family and friends, loved Newburgh and Wallkill history.  She made every holiday special and was devoted to her family.  Mom loved animals.  Through the years she rescued many dogs and cats.  She would have adopted them all if she could!

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden.
