Leroy W. DeGroodt Sr. (123 Mr. Lee) of Walden, NY passed away on March 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 18, 1941 in Walden, NY. He was 79. Leroy was the son of Myron DeGroodt and Leona Kimbark. He was the owner of L. DeGroodt Paving Inc. and the Walden Laundromat for many years. Leroy was a car enthusiast who loved classic cars his entire life. He was well known and loved by his community. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his lifelong friend and companion Kathleen Gorton at home in Walden; Children, Barbara and Huey, Leroy Jr. and Linda, Ronald Sr. and Lisa, Robert and Kecia, David and Dina, Larry, Jason and Kelley, Jessica, Michael and Tina; grandchildren, Austin, Coltin, Rhiannon, Jahrett, Joshua, Ronald Jr., John Phillip, Hunter, Megan, Morgan, Nicholas, Victoria, David, Dylan, Daniel, Brody, Ronald III, Jon, Danielle, Kelsey, Haley, Joshua and Ethan; several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Myron Jr., Thomas and Joseph DeGroodt.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday April 2, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Friends may stop and visit briefly if they wish or if it is more comfortable they can drive by slowly and blow the horn for ¨123 Mr. Lee¨. All classic cars are welcomed in memory of Leroy.
