Library urges everyone to complete the census

The Marlboro Library is reminding all residents to complete the 2020 Census. As of May 12, only 51.3% of Marlborough residents have responded to the census.

Funding for local schools, Head Start programs, roads, Medicaid, community development grants, and more are all based on how many people are counted in the Census. Your response to the 2020 Census will affect not only the funding we receive for these important resources in our community, but also our representation in the federal and state governments.

By now, you should have received an invitation from the U.S. Census Bureau to complete the 2020 Census. Responses can be answered online at my2020census.gov or by calling 844-330-2020. In a few weeks, the Census Bureau will mail out a paper questionnaire to households who have not responded. The census will ask you 9 questions and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

The Marlboro Library staff can help connect you with the information needed in order to complete the Census, by calling the Library’s helpline and leaving a message at 845-236-7272.
