The weather last Friday evening for Lloyd’s Independence Day Celebration was in a word – perfect. People began to gather at the town field around 6 p.m. and it continued right up until the fireworks show commenced at about 9:30 p.m.

Numerous vendors lined the field; Elias Catering provided hamburgers and hot dogs, Cub Scout Pack 70 served cotton candy, Lakeside Licks offered a variety of ice cream, the Tipsey Turtle painted colorful designs on the kid’s faces and a bouncy tent was in steady demand.

The Touch of Rhythm Band provided the soundtrack for the evening, playing a variety of pop and rock n’ roll music. Frankie Sammartano handled the vocals with Billie Torreganni on drums, Mark Babero on guitar, James Buhre on bass and Duane Beyer on keyboards.

Instructors and students of the Bushiken Karate school demonstrated numerous selections of what they teach at their location in the hamlet.

The evening was capped off with a spectacular fireworks display across the skies above the town field.
