Local police departments to host National Night Out

Posted

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

National Night Out, observed on the first Tuesday in August, enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

The Town of Shawangunk Police Department will celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3, 4-9 p.m. at the police station in the hamlet of Wallkill.

The Town of Crawford Police Department will be hosting its First National Night Out Against Crime on August 3, 6 – 9 p.m. at the Town of Crawford Park located on Red Mills Road Pine Bush.

The Town of Crawford Police Department is turning 50 and has been coordinating with local businesses, the Town of Crawford PBA, local volunteers, and the Town of Crawford to ensure our evening is a success.

In addition to the fireworks show and band, which are being sponsored by the Pine Bush Memorial Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 5492 - they will have Touch-A- Truck, The Tumble Bus, giveaways, a bounce house, and demonstrations by various public safety agencies, food, snacks and drinks.
Admission is free.
