Marlborough Democrats endorse two candidates

This year, the Marlborough Democratic Committee has endorsed two candidates to represent the Town of Marlborough in the County Legislature – Mici Simonofsky for Legislative District 11 and Russell Gilmore for Legislative District 10.

Mici Simonofsky was born and raised in the Town of Marlborough and has spent all of her adult life as a dedicated Registered Nurse, with a concentration in holistic health. As part of her community involvement, she is a former Councilmember of the Marlborough Town Board and has served on the Town’s Conservation Advisory Committee since 2010. She presided over the Community Service Salute Dinner throughout its 10-year duration, and has been active in keeping the TOMVAC property under the Town’s ownership. “I want to bring Marlborough’s sense of history and agriculture to the County level and use it to create an even bigger platform for our Town and County’s growth. To that end,” she vows, “I pledge to work, in synergy, with all members of the Legislature to develop and maintain projects, programs, policies and legislation that will bring more services to Marlborough and make our tax dollars work better for us. We need to take our rightful place in this great County of ours.”

Legislative District 10, in which Russell Gilmore is running, covers the northern end of Marlborough’s hamlet of Milton and a considerable portion of Highland in the Town of Lloyd. “

Russell Gilmore is a retired Adjunct Professor from Marist College of Social Psychology, and Dutchess Community College at which he taught a course dealing with social problems in America and what makes a successful group function in our society. He is Vice President of the Town of Lloyd’s Highland Landing Park Assn., a Member of Lloyd’s Zoning Board of Appeals, and has been active as a volunteer for the Walkway Over the Hudson.

Both Gilmore and Simonofsky will be running in the Tuesday, November 5 General Election.
