Monument companies offer free services to help families remember

As life in the Hudson Valley slowly returns from sheltering in place to the “new normal”, three local monument companies are doing their part to help families adjust to life after isolation. Orange County Monuments, Putnam County Monuments, and Travis Monuments, part of the Hudson Valley Monument Group, are offering its design services free to families who now wish to memorialize a loved one who may have passed recently.

For any family that wishes to create a memorial headstone or monument, these companies will provide free memorial carving and engraving on all new orders.

Families are responsible only for the cost of the granite and the installation at the cemetery.  Additionally, for monuments that memorialize a first responder, military veteran, or someone in the healthcare field, the installation charge will be donated as well; families will only pay for the granite. The cost of the space in the cemetery of their choosing is not included.  Orders placed by Independence Day will qualify for these offers.

“Each of us has been affected in some way by the coronavirus pandemic and we want to provide this gesture to help families, regardless of what caused their loved one’s passing,” said Anthony Minozzi, president of Hudson Valley Monuments Group. “We understand many families may now want to memorize a loved one and we hope that this small gesture can help them to do just that.”

For those families with an existing monument that needs an inscription added, each of the three companies will provide a free inspection of the monument. The team will examine the joint, the installation, the foundation, as well as level of the monument.
