Newburgh relay team 2nd at Penn Relays

The Newburgh Free Academy boys’ 3,200-meter relay team ran the top time in New York state and the fifth fastest time in the nation at the Penn Relays on April 26.

The team of Devin Batelic, Kendy Georges, Brady Danyluk and David Pinnock ran the race with a time of 7:45.54, a new school record.

They finished second overall behind Jamaica College.

About a week earlier, the Goldbacks won 34 medals and one plaque at the New York Relays.

Danyluk ran the top New York State time in the 800-meter run when he finished in 1:55.54 and Batelic set a new school record in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:17.83.
