Volunteers can now register for Riverkeeper’s 10th Annual Riversweep event Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.at the Newburgh Rowing club. Join in with thousands of other volunteers throughout the State of New York as they clean up the Hudson River shoreline (Permit Pending).

Due to Covid, volunteers must adhere to the following: masks must be worn at all times, no exceptions. Everyone must register in advance, no exceptions. There is no fee. The link to register can be found on the Newburgh Rowing Club Facebook page.

Volunteers will help clean the Hudson River shoreline and limited volunteers will go out in kayaks to pull bottles cans and debris from the Hudson River.

The Newburgh Rowing Club will have free water and Gatorade available.

The event will be held at the Newburgh Rowing Club at Ward Brothers Park, 2 River Street in the City of Newburgh.

Attendees are advised to cross the railroad tracks and follow the service road to the big blue boathouse.

“It’s a great annual event which we were not able to hold last year. Please follow the protocols and we will be sure to have another great event this year!” said Coach Ed Kennedy, President of the Newburgh rowing club.
