Pritchard re-appointed Maybrook Deputy Mayor

Posted

It almost seemed like a rare moment of normalcy during these pandemic times as there were no surprises at the annual reorganization meeting of the Maybrook Village Board last week.

Normally held in April, the reorganization meeting comes after village elections, normally held in March. But since the elections were held in September because of the pandemic, reorganization was postponed until last week.

Re-elected were Mayor Dennis Leahy, two-year term, and Trustees Daryl Capozzoli and Robert Pritchard, two years. Continuing for the one year remaining on their terms are Trustees Kevin Greany and James Barnett and Justice William Schimpf.

Pritchard was also re-appointed Deputy Mayor, who will also remain liaison to the village planning board and zoning board of appeals (ZBA). He also continues to lead economic development.

The rest of the appoints are subject to village board approval, which members did unanimously. They are all incumbents. Except for Village Clerk/Treasurer Valentina Johnson, who is appointed to another two-year term, they are one-year appointments and include: Village Engineer Sean Hoffman; Village Attorney Burke, Miele, Golden & Naughton; Village Historian Darlene Sparks; Emeritus Village Justice Edward Souto; and Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer and Fire Inspector Timothy Ippolito.

Appointed to various village boards and committees are: Board of Ethics, Guy Cusamano and Valentina Johnson, one year each; Planning Board, William Treco, five years; ZBA, Donna Bartletta, five years; Parks Committee, Dennis Leahy, Matthew Thorp and Caryl Capozzoli, one year; Memorial Day Committee chair, Kevin Greany, one year; Kick-Off 4th of July Celebration chair, Donna Bartletta; Celebrate Maybrook Committee, Mayor and Village Board; Maybrook Police Bike Rodeo, Sgt. Michael Maresca, James Barnett; Holiday Events Committee, Dennis Leahy and Valentina Johnson; Village Handbook committee, Kevin Greany and James Barnett; and Safety Committee, Dennis Leahy, Matthew Thorp and Daryl Capozzoli.
