New Town of Shawangunk Supervisor Ken Ronk Jr. will be joined on the Town Board by incumbent Brian Amthor and former town highway superintendent Joe LoCicero following Tuesday’s unofficial election results.

Ronk, the former chairman of the Ulster County Legislature and currently a legislator representing the Town of Shawangunk, will replace outgoing Supervisor John Valk, who chose not to run for re-election.

Ronk, who was unopposed, won with 1,754 votes.

In the race for four-year terms on the board, Republican/Conservatives Amthor (1,477) and LoCicero (1,410) beat out Democratic/Working Families nominees Adrienne Gelfand-Perine (769) and Anthony Mantello (700).

Six-term GOP Ulster County Legislator Craig Lopez, who was forced to run on the No Party Independent line when he was booted from the Republican line for insufficient signatures on his nominating petitions, retained his seat over Kelli Palinkas Greer (Democrat, Working Families) in District 14 (Shawangunk, Wawarsing). Lopez outpolled Palinkas Greer 872 to 554.

Newcomer Richard Walls (Republican, Conservative) won election for Ronk’s seat in District 13 (Shawangunk). He was unopposed and drew 960 votes.

Town Clerk/Tax Collector Jane Rascoe and Highway Superintendent Rich Blazeski were both re-elected with no opposition. Rascoe polled 1,838 votes, while Blazeski got 1,763 votes.

Incumbent Town Justice Mike Voss (Republican, Conservative) won another four-year term by beating Rebecca Mantello (Working Families) by a 1,573 to 413 vote count.
