Shakur runs for City Council

Omari Shakur will be running for the Newburgh City Council. The community activist looks to fill At-Large seat on the city council. Shakur fights for equity, living wage jobs and decent affordable housing as well as improving community relations.

Shakur has the endorsement of the Working Families Party.

“I am proud to accept the endorsement of the Working Families Party.” said Shakur.

“We share many of the same values in the service of community. I look forward to listening to and advocating for working families in Newburgh, and to an ongoing relationship with WFP members both now and after November.”

Shakur will be listed on the Working Families Party line, Row D, in the November General Election.
