With all of the absentee ballots counted in Orange, Rockland, and Ulster counties, Senator James Skoufis’ (D-Woodbury) final margin of victory stands at 14%. Defeating his challenger Steve Brescia by nearly 18,000 votes, Skoufis’ margin of victory is the largest of any of the five races he has run during his time in the State Legislature.

“First and foremost, I thank the phenomenal people of our Senate District for continuing to place their faith in me,” said Skoufis. “It means the world and I don’t take it lightly. The forthcoming term will be challenging. Over the next two years, I’m going to be laser-focused on protecting our public health, rebuilding the economy and continuing to always put the Hudson Valley first - every time, all the time.”

The final vote count in the Senate District stands at 72,514 for Skoufis (57.05%) and 54,596 for Brescia (42.95%).
