Panthers pound Newburgh, 12-1
Kyle DeGroat doubled, singled twice and scored three runs, leading the Wallkill Panthers to a 12-1 win over the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks in five innings on Friday at Delano-Hitch Stadium in Newburgh.
Ryan Rauschenbach added a single and two RBIs, and Mason Franklin had two singles, a double, three RBIs and four runs scored. Jake Spindler tripled, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Mike Daley, Niko Mandich and Connor Bleichner each had an RBI.
Ryan Maher threw a five-inning complete game, allowing two hits and struck out five batters.

The Panthers beat the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors, 18-2 in five innings on Thursday. They opened the week with a 12-0 win over the Saugerties Sawyers.

Vikings edge Crusaders Division I boys’ lacrosse
Connor Stafford scored two goals and had one assist, leading the Valley Central Vikings to a 7-6 win over the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders in a Division I boys’ lacrosse game on Friday at Valley Central High School in Montgomery.

Julian Rodriguez and Colin Kinsley scored two goals each and Brody Jurman added a goal. Dylan Butcher had an assist, and Logan Drake made 11 saves for the Vikings (7-5, 3-1 Div. 1).
The Vikings are guaranteed a berth in the Section 9 Class A tournament.
