Walden building department will close for a week

The Village of Walden announced that the building department will be closed from Wednesday, December 28 to Tuesday, January 3.

Though some of those days all government buildings will be closed due to holidays, Village Manager John Revella noted at a Walden Board of Trustees meeting that one building department worker is off and the other is out sick. However they will be on call in case of an emergency while away.

The village has yet to name a replacement for former building inspector Dean Stickles who retired in October. Mayor John Ramos clarified that they have been using village engineers for any urgent cases.
