The Wallkill Senior High School (WSHS) mixed choir performed at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night. They performed prior to the Christmas Spectacular, as the warm-up act for the Radio City Rockettes.

“The kids were very cool customers on stage in front of 6,000 people,” said Dawn Amthor, choir director at Wallkill Senior High School. “They did a great job.”

The choir was able to perform on this stage due to the Sounds of Christmas Program. This program gives choirs the chance to give a five-minute holiday-themed a capella performance before the curtain opens for the Christmas Spectacular. The experience also includes one ticket to the Christmas Spectacular for each member of the choir.

Three songs were performed by the WSHS choir. The group sang “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”, “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” and “Jingle Bells”. The performers’ family and friends cheered vigorously from the audience.

This was a big night for the students and the community. Over 300 tickets were sold to family, friends and community members. These supportive fans traveled to New York City to cheer on the choir. Parents, community members and faculty are all proud of these talented musicians.
