 On Saturday, May 18 at approximately 03:38 a.m. the City of Newburgh Police Department received a shots fired activation from the Shot Spotter system, indicating multiple shots fired in the area of 197 South Street.

Woman shot on North Miller St.

 On Saturday, May 18 at approximately 03:38 a.m. the City of Newburgh Police Department received a shots fired activation from the Shot Spotter system, indicating multiple shots fired in the area of 197 South Street. 

Upon arrival officers found a large crowd that was dispersing. Responding officers received limited information about the incident and no scene was discovered. 

At approximately 04:30 am., a female walked into St. Luke’s Hospital with an injury to the hand and evidence consistent with bullet fragments. Investigators learned that she had been in the area of North Miller Street & South Street during the time of the shots fired incident. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time. This incident is being investigated by the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force.
