Writing workshops begin Monday

The Gardiner Library will host a Writing Workshop series with author Lawrence Carr starting Monday March 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The workshop will focus on Fact or Fiction helping those interested in writing their stories and memoirs.

The series consists of four workshops continuing Monday evenings April 1, April 8 and April 22. Each session is $15 or the entire series can be pre-registered for $45. Pre-registration for the workshops is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.

Laurence Carr writes fiction, plays and poetry. His newest book of poetry, Threnodies: Poems of Remembrance, was published by Codhill Press. His novel, Pancake Hollow Primer, won the Next Generation Indie Book Award for first novel in 2012; and he co-edited of A Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley, winner of five national awards including the USA Best Book Award for anthology. Laurence is also the editor of Riverine: an Anthology of Hudson Valley Writers. He’s been widely published and over 20 of his plays have been produced throughout the U.S. and Europe including The Wakeville Stories and Vaudeville.
