17K corridor study on tap

The Town of Montgomery Industrial Development Agency (IDA) will hold a public open house September 30 regarding the Route 17K Economic Development Corridor Study.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their ideas as to the type of industrial and commercial investments they would like to see along the Route 17K corridor.

“The open house comes from the fact that we think our residents have interesting insights,” said Executive Director of the Town of Montgomery IDA Conor Eckert. “We want to hear their ideas and their vision when it comes to economic development.”

The open house will take place during two sessions at Montgomery Town Hall, 110 Bracken Road. The first was scheduled for this morning and the second will occur from 6 to 8 p.m.

After the open house, the Town of Montgomery IDA will conduct a market analysis using the insights from residents to examine market potential.

“Once the study’s done, we plan to use that information to better position the Town of Montgomery when it comes to economic development, to put us in the driver’s seat,” Eckert said.

Those who cannot attend send ideas to executivedirector@montgomeryida.com.
