The Valley Central Viking Voices, the Valley Central Middle School’s Select A Cappella Group, was recently selected as one of two Middle School A Cappella groups across the country to participate in the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA), hosted by Varsity Vocals. This year, over 3,850 performers in 250+ groups from high schools across 27 states will be competing in the tournament. The Viking Voices join Stafford Middle School’s Fermata Nowhere out of Plattsburgh as the only two middle school entries in this year’s competition.

The Viking Voices will be competing in their Northeast Region Quarterfinal on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, N.Y. Performance begins at 7 p.m and tickets can be purchased at varsityvocals.com.

“It is an exciting opportunity to be competing as a middle school group,” says Kyle Grimaldi, an eighth grader in the group. “Our goal is to be the best version of ourselves.
