Amazon plans to occupy the Project Sailfish warehouse, an approximately 1-million-square-foot distribution center located near Interstate I-84 and the intersection of NYS Route 17K and 747.

According to MWVPL International, a specialized supply chain, logistics and distributing consulting firm, the facility will be a non-sortable fulfillment center, which generally houses items that can’t be sorted into a box with other items due to size. These items cannot be placed onto a conveyor belt for automated sorting.

Currently before the Town of Montgomery planning board, the building’s application was submitted by Bluewater Industrial Partners, which provides real estate development, asset management and strategic investment services within the US industrial marketplace.

Bluewater Industrial Partners representative Don Chase has stated at multiple planning board meetings that the project would be filled by an undisclosed e-commerce tenant.
