Aud Johansen of Wallkill, a longtime resident of the area, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Montefiore St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Anders and Karine Haugen Omdal, she was born December 13, 1934 in Drangedal, Norway.
Aud was an amazing woman, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an all-around loving person.
She was the widow of Johan A. Johansen.
Survivors include her son Terje Johansen & Evelyn of Wallkill; daughters Irene Dietrich and Gerald of Pine Bush, Jane Eustice and Ronald of Jonesborough, TN and Victoria Lundgren & Steven of Wallkill; 11 Grandchildren Jon (Elizabeth) & Kristen Johansen, Faith (Srdjan Milicevic), Gerald (Nicole), Joseph, and Heidi (Ray Camacho) Dieterich, Craig (Marybeth) Eustice, Brandon (Casey), Tyler, Tucker, and Brooke Lundgren; 12 Great Grandchildren; brother Bjarne Omdal and Kjaerlaug of Skien, Norway; sister-in-law Aasta Johansen of Sevierville, TN; sister-in-law Oddny Hogalmen and Ottar of Brumunddal, Norway and several nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her son Jan Arne Johansen; grandson Erik J. Eustice; Great Grandson Asher Eustice; four sisters from Norway, Margit Melas, Anna Svendsen, Bjornhild Evja, Inger Lise Holtan and Brother from Norway, Knut Omdal
Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
