The Middletown Cobras senior American Legion team won its seventh game Wednesday June 26 by handing Newburgh a 4-1 loss at Delano-Hitch Stadium.

Derek Young started for the Cobras, which scored an earned run and three unearned runs off the Nuclears.

“I think our hitting is coming along better than I expected,” said Sam Citriniti, Middletown’s manager.

Middletown has two losses and the Cobras’ pitching is giving Citriniti more confidence than he had earlier in the season. Now he’s still looking for a strong closer.

“It’s coming around,” he said, of the pitching.
