Alec Sullivan of Rock Tavern was among 12 members of The University of Scranton’s class of 2021, along with graduates from East Stroudsburg University, King’s College, Penn State Scranton and Wilkes University, who were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army during an in-person ceremony held on campus on May 29.
Sullivan majored in political science at the Jesuit university.

Margaret Sutherland of Middletown, graduated with a degree(s) in intelligence analysis from James Madison University during commencement exercises in May 2021.

The annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony, held in Gibson Theatre as part of Commencement activities, recognized 60 students who have completed the requirements for a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Rebecca Corsette of Walden was recently named to the Castleton University Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year.

Valley Central Graduate Karlee Weeden of Maybrook a senior pitcher at Cortland was named to the SUNYAC all conference first team and was also named to all  Northeast region second team.  Karlee started 14 out of 15 appearances and finished the season with a 10-3 record and a 2.52 ERA.  She had 49 strikeouts in 83.1 innings.   Karlee is the daughter of Thomas and Laura Weeden of Maybrook and granddaughter of Dennis and Phyllis Kugler of Montgomery and Rosemary Warren of Goshen.

Hermminat Yusuff, Luther College first-year student of Walden, has been named to the 2021 Spring Dean’s List.

Jasmine Walker of Gardiner graduated this spring from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a Politics & Government major .

Ken Celestin, of Middletown, has received a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Recreation Management from American International College (AIC) in Springfield, MA. A total of 232 students graduated this May, representing twelve foreign countries, in addition to eighteen states and Puerto Rico. Congratulations to this dedicated, newly-minted graduate.
