Emperor Brescia

Posted

Last Tuesday the Village of Montgomery invited Medline Representatives to come speak to residents about the Mega Warehouse being planned outside our historic village. Almost immediately the Reps entertained questions from the residents. I spoke first. Then Emperor Brescia showed his true colors. As Sue Cockburn approached, Emperor Brescia screeched “you are not a resident, you cannot ask a question”. When Ms. Cockburn protested, Emperor Brescia ordered the Chief of Police and his men to escort her out of the meeting. Hell then broke loose. Emperor Brescia continued to deny TOM residents the right to to speak. I then reminded Emperor Brescia that in the legal notice posted by the village clerk on 5/26/19 in the TH-R that the meeting was open to the public. He then ordered his Chief to escort me out. I reminded the Chief that he is bound to uphold state law. Later on Emperor Brescia did successfully escort a lady out of the meeting against angry resident protests.

This meeting served as a notice to everyone, as it was very public, the kind of Mayor and Legislator we continue to elect.

Freedom of Speech was violated. Why is it when people hold public office the first thing they limit, to the very people who elected them, is their right to speak. Brescia has a long history of this at the village and county level. Do not forget his battle cry “why are you asking so many questions”, both at village meetings and county. Just ask Mike Anagtostaris.

At the Medline meeting many residents had concerns. It is not up to the Mayor/Legislator to dictate who can and cannot speak. Just ask the editor of the WVT why they are no longer the paper of record for the VOM. I asked that at a village board meeting, Emperor Brescia‘s response was that WVT does not write favorable articles about Brescia. Folks it is the job of the WVT to report news, I think they do a good job at that.

There are too many conflicts of interest when it comes to Brescia. Is he serving the residents of the VOM properly or is he more concerned about the best interest of the OC Partnership and his cronies in Goshen. Also, and not the least, how is Emperor Brescia going to benefit from the Construction of the Medline warehouse, after all he works for Tetz.

Just remember how Emperor Brescia served residents when his next election comes up.
