Filmmaking Class with Allyson Ferrara

This class will teach students the fundamentals of filmmaking. Students will learn what is necessary in order to create a movie by going through the processes of preproduction, production, and post production. Students will create a short film with an idea they conceptualize, shoot, and edit. Students will work together as a team, both crew and actors, in order to create their own short movie. Students are asked to please bring their own iPhone or iPad to create and edit with. They will need to download the free iMovie app. There will be a classroom computer available for demonstration. Allyson Ferrara is a freelance filmmaker in New Paltz, NY. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Digital Media Production, Allyson found her love for filmmaking at the age of eight and has continued working on projects and creating short films ever since. Recently, Ferrara organized and curated a local short film festival, New Paltz Shorts, at the Water Street Market. For ages 10-13
