Galaxy Project moving forward

The Galaxy Project, a proposed business park in the Village of Maybrook with up to 850,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space, is moving forward with new interest in the site.

Maybrook mayor Dennis Leahy, deputy mayor Bob Pritchard, village engineer Sean Hoffman and Department of Public Works Supervisor Matt Thorp met with representatives from Galaxy, LLC earlier this month to discuss water and sewer connection to their property as they are in the final stages of the State Environmental Quality Review Act process.

Leahy said interest in the project has grown since it was announced the project would receive a $600,000 Empire State Development grant in December.

“We were informed that [Galaxy] have been contacted by businesses interested in their site and discussions are taking place,” Leahy said.
