‘Al Fresco’ Italian classes offered
The Gardiner Library is continuing to offer its free weekly Italian Conversational Class outdoors on Wednesdays through October 21 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This weekly class is designed for people who have some knowledge of the Italian language and would like to improve their conversational skills. 
Class will meet on the back patio, weather permitting, at the Gardiner Library. Masks and social distancing required. Classes will meet via Zoom during inclement weather and after October 22. Contact Nicole at nlane@rcls.org for the Zoom link and password.
Dr. Ornella Lepri Mazzuca is a native speaker of Italian. She graduated from the University of Urbino, Italy, with a Doctorate in English, French and Italian. Language of Flowers Workshop
The Gardiner Library hosts the Language of Flowers Workshop #1: Tussie Mussies with Elissa Rinaldo on Saturday September 26 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The class will meet at Majestic Park under the pavilion and costs $30 or $50 if registering for both workshop #1 and #2 which will meet on October 3 to cover Fall Wreath Making. There is a $15 materials fee. Pre-registration required by September 21 by emailing Nicole at nlane@rcls.org. Masks will be required and all social distancing protocols will be followed. Each person will create their own delicate bouquet with a special meaning. These can be dried afterward as a keepsake. Tussie Mussies are a Victorian tradition, also known as talking bouquets. “Tussie” refers to a knot of flowers and “mussie” refers to moss that was used to keep the stems moist.
These delicate bouquets made of flowers and herbs were created to send their own special message. Fresh flowers and other supplies will be provided. 
Elissa Rinaldo, a Gardiner resident for 16 years, studied visual arts at SUNY Purchase and received an Ornamental Horticultural Degree from UCC. She has been a professional Gardener and is a Special Events Floral Artisan through her business Flowers by Elissa and for event venues including the Mohonk Mountain House.. Elissa has been organizing and leading workshops throughout Westchester and the Hudson Valley for many years, including The Desmond Campus and Mohonk Mountain House.

Virtual tutoring available
The Gardiner Library currently offers Free Tutoring services via Zoom. Free Reading and Writing tutoring with retired teacher, Leo Glaser, is available Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 30 or 45 minute sessions. Free Elementary Math, Science and English tutoring with Kristie Benel is available for 45 minute sessions with days and times to be scheduled between tutor and student.
