Gardiner Library hosts free Reiki
The next Gardiner Library free monthly Reiki session will be held on Sunday January 4 from noon to 2 p.m. Members of the Hudson Valley Community (HVC) Reiki group will offer 20-minute individual Reiki sessions, free of charge, on a first-come first-served basis. Reiki is both the energy of the Universe and the Japanese system of sharing this energy with others. Recipients sit in a chair or lie on a comfortable table, clothed, while the practitioner lightly places hands on or above the recipient. The effect is of peace and deep rest for the recipient.
HVC Reiki group members are all seasoned practitioners from the community. They have been doing similar events throughout the region since 2010. Visit www.HVCReiki.org to learn more.
The Reiki will be offered in the library community room, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner, NY. Reiki is offered on the first Sunday of the month. The next session will be held on February 2.
For directions or further information call 255-1255 or visitgardinerlibrary.org or the library’s Facebook page.

Individuals will also be given the opportunity to perform for the group, if they desire, building confidence to perform in front of audiences.
Pfeffer has been playing the ukulele for over 20 years, giving lessons to beginners along the way. He has performed locally in nursing homes and hospitals, as well as open mics and other venues. He particularly enjoys tin-pan-alley, novelty songs, and sing-a-longs, with a focus on performance.
The ukulele club will meet the second Wednesday of the month.
