Gardiner to host cleanup

Posted

In Celebration of “Earth Day Week”, the Town of Gardiner would like to enlist the community in a Town-wide clean-up, while our roads are relatively quiet.

Come to the outside front entrance of Town Hall and grab an empty orange garbage bag. Please wear protective equipment for your clean-up trip; neon or brightly-colored clothing, work gloves, and face masks for social distancing. Remember to watch for ticks and poison ivy too. Fill the orange bags as full as you can, tie securely, and if possible, please drop them at the Transfer Station during open hours (Wed, Fri, Sat: 8am-3:45pm).

If you would like to participate in the clean-up, but can’t drop off the filled bags to the Transfer Station yourself, please email Town Supervisor Mary Beth Majestic at supervisor.tog@gmail.com, with the best approximate location where you left the securely tied bags along the road. A community volunteer will drive out to bring the bags to the transfer station.

If you would like to send us photos of your family during their clean-up adventure, to be posted on the town’s facebook page, please email to townofgardiner.assistant@gmail.com.
