The Gardiner Library hosts Eric Roth in a 19th Century Guitar Concert on Saturday December 14 from 3 to 4 p.m.

Eric Roth will perform a program primarily of 19th century guitar music, which was a time of striking innovation and development of this familiar instrument and is rich with intriguing and delightful repertoire. The music will be performed on a beautiful, authentic reproduction instrument modeled after one build in 1830. Eric will also provide information about the instrument, repertoire, composers and history. The program will feature music by three 19th century women composers and works from Renaissance Italy, 18th-century Spain, 19th-century France and England, and 20th-century South America. Eric will also perform his own piece, Passacaglia, composed in 2018.

The performance will take place in the library community room, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner.
