Library offers free Empire and Mohonk Passes

Posted

Gardiner Library patrons are able to partake in additional free activities just by using their library card.

The library has recently acquired an Empire Pass and also offers Mohonk Passes. The Empire Pass gives access to most facilities operated by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation including local Minnewaska trails and grants access to a number of facilities which offer hiking, biking, swimming, climbing and more.

Families and individuals may check out one pass per person and they must be presented at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center or Mohonk Preserve Trailheads to redeem their free day use wristband. Library patrons may inquire about pass availability by calling the circulation desk or stopping by the library. The passes may be obtained at the circulation desk. The loan period for the Empire Pass and Mohonk Preserve pass are three days.

These passes are in addition to the library’s passes to the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Motorcyclepedia Museum and Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.

The library is located at 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner. For further information call 255-1255 or visit gardinerlibrary.org or the library’s Facebook page.
