Several sidewalks were recently completed in Maybrook, with more scheduled to be done.

Maybrook Mayor Dennis Leahy said sidewalks were replaced on Homestead Avenue between Clark Place and Oak Street earlier this month. The sidewalk replacements on Country Club Drive are still ongoing. All replacements are Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant.

“They are brand new; it’s an upgrade in the village,” Leahy said. “We hope to do more down the road.”

The replacements were completed with a $100,000 2014 Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) grant, with no cost to the village, Leahy said.

The village plans to use another 2015 DASNY grant for sidewalk installations by Stewarts Shops and the sewer treatment plant. Plans are currently being drawn for those sidewalks, Leahy said.
