Montgomery Little League’s intermediate baseball team won the Section 3 north tournament in Hillcrest with a 9-6 victory over New City. Montgomery returns to Chester this week to play in the state tournament.

Winning pitcher was Jason Murphy. Leading Hitters for Montgomery: Billy Treco 2-5 2HR; John Scotto 3-5 2B; William Quinn 2-4; Chris Byrne 2-4 and Evan Johnson 2-4.

Pine Bush’s junior Little League baseball team beat Chester 9-4 Saturday to take the District 19 title.

Pine Bush will now travel to nearby Town of Wallkill to face District 20 Harrison in the first game of the Section 3 north tournament Saturday, July 13.

The Town of Wallkill Little League’s senior softball team won the District 19 title Wednesday with a 16-1 victory over Washingtonville. The Town of Wallkill now advances to the state tournament, which begins this week in Haverstraw.

A day earlier, Tuesday, July 2, Pine Bush’s minor league softball team, 8-10-year-olds, won the district title with a 10-5 victory over Monroe-Woodbury.
