Ethan Sherwood, of Montgomery was named to the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society as he was recognized for his performance both on the field and in the classroom.

The accolade, is awarded annually to student-athletes in their final year of eligibility who have achieved a 3.20 or better cumulative GPA and were significant contributors during the 2018 season.

Sherwood was also named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference All-Academic Team earlier this year for the third year in a row. 1,643 players from a record 424 schools across all three NCAA divisions qualified for membership in the society’s 13th year.

Sherwood, a 2015 graduate of Valley Central High School, was a captain for the football team this past fall during his senior year and is graduating from Castleton University this month with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Communications. He will be returning to Orange County to work at Sohns Appliance Center in Walden.
