Happy Birthday to library clerk Layne Mackay who will celebrate her birthday on February 28.
The library is honoring Black History Month with our “Art For Kids” Take and Make celebrating Black Artists. Learn about Jacob Lawrence, Faith Ringgold, Augusta Savage, Betye Saar and Alison Saar. Then create a piece of artwork inspired by Horace Pippin, a famous painter who began his life right near Goshen. Look for two posts from Miss Beth as she reads “A Splash of Red: the Life and Art of Horace Pippin” by Jean Bryant and then discuss the artists mentioned above. Beth will also present an art lesson for you to do. Reserve your art packet at the library by calling 778-7621l. All supplies are included to create your own artwork.
Take a snapshot and send it to us at wal@rcls.org with your name so we can add it to our Facebook page!
