Neuhaus announces the re-opening of Dwaar Kill Bridge

Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and Commissioner of Public Works Erik Denega have announced that the Dwaar Kill Bridge, located along the border of the Towns of Montgomery and Crawford, has re-opened.

“This bridge provides safety and convenience for residents in the towns of Montgomery and Crawford and I’m glad that it was re-opened in a timely manner,” Neuhaus said. “County road and bridge infrastructure is vital to the region and I’m really proud of our staff and the fine work our County forces do. I can’t thank them enough for getting this bridge replaced in an efficient manner.”

The project budget was approximately $690,000, with design and construction completed by the Orange County Department of Public Works. The Dwaar Kill Bridge, which had been closed since July 2019 for replacement, carries Fleury Road over the Dwaar Kill, along the border of the towns of Montgomery and Crawford. The single-span bridge was built in 1934 and is 33-feet wide by 40-feet long.
