No opposition in Maybrook

In a departure from normal procedure, Maybrook village elections will not be held on a Tuesday in March. Because St. Patrick’s Day falls on the third Tuesday in March (when village elections would normally be held), Election Day in all villages that normally vote in March will be held on Wed., March 18.

In Maybrook, polls will be open that day, 12 noon - 9 p.m., at the village Senior Center. There are three village board seats in contention, with all three incumbents running for re-election: Mayor Dennis Leahy and Trustees Daryl Capozzoli and Robert Pritchard (also deputy mayor). They have no opposition.

Election inspectors who will greet you at the polls will be Jane Schimpf, Frances Ryan, Angela Mingoia and Noreen Reynolds.

Deadline to register for the election is Tues., March 3. Forms are available at Village Hall, but must be returned to the Orange County Board of Elections in Goshen. You can also download a form from the county website: www.orangecountygov.com.
