Patricia A. Fitzgerald, age 81 of Montgomery, passed away on October 9, 2019 at home. She was born on November 28, 1937 in Newburgh, NY. Patricia was married to the late William M. Fitzgerald Sr. She will be dearly missed.
“Mrs. Fitz” was a retired member of the Montgomery Elementary School family and influenced generations of students during her 40 year career. She was a long- time member of Beta Sigma Phi, Valley Central Scholarship committee and various community groups is Montgomery.
Survivors include her daughters, Eileen Fitzgerald-Spiehs and her husband, Benno, of Marathon, NY, Kathleen Bardin and her husband, Mark, of Pine Bush, NY; son, Arthur Fitzgerald and his wife, Megan, of Walden; grandchildren, Jenna Bardin, Eamon & Rory Fitzgerald; niece Alicia Juracek; nephew, Stephen Juracek III. In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was predeceased by her son, William M. Fitzgerald Jr. and brother, Stephen Juracek Jr.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9 - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19 at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden. A Memorial Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Church, 42 Walnut St. Walden, immediately following the visitation. Burial of ashes will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s memory to the Montgomery Free Library, 133 Clinton St. Montgomery, NY 12549.
