Pine Bush District giving back four emergency closing days

Posted

Spring is officially here and, with some luck, there will be no more wintry weather to delay or cancel school.
The Pine Bush School District has four unused days that were built into the school calendar and reserved for inclement weather. If there are no further emergency closings, those days will be given back to students, teachers and school staff. All other district personnel, including administrators, clerical, managerial and maintenance staff, will work their regular schedules.

Here are the “give back” days in their priority order:
1. Friday, May 24, 2019 - The Superintendent Conference Day originally scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2019 has been moved to Thursday, May 23, 2019. Students have no classes on Thursday, Friday and Monday, which is Memorial Day.
2. Monday, April 22, 2019 - The day after Easter which would extend the spring break one day.

3. Friday, April 12, 2019 - The Friday before spring break begins.
4. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 - The day after Memorial Day

Any future school closings will remove these give back days in reverse order. So if there is a school cancellation, May 28 would be eliminated first, then April 12 and so on.

Any changes will be posted on the district website, pinebushschools.org.
