Proposed church prompts concerns for Lake Osiris traffic

Posted

Lake Osiris Road residents expressed concern about an increase in traffic resulting from Good Canaan Land Church, a church proposed on the residential road.
Lawrence Marshall, Principal Engineer for MNTM, said a traffic study on the road is currently underway and will be prepared for the next public hearing.

Lake Osiris Road resident Maureen Markel said a traffic study conducted in January wouldn’t take into account the increased vehicular and foot traffic in the summer.

The road is currently dangerous for pedestrian traffic and increased traffic would only cause the problem to get worse.

“I just think it’s an unsafe road for increased traffic,” Markel said.

The continuation of the public hearing will be on March 11 at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
